Color Use in CASCADE

  At the current time, we are exploring the use of color in CASCADE to provide authors and editors with quicker access to information. These developments are very much in a state of transition, so the reader should be wary of assuming that what is written here is valid for the particular implementation they are working with. (In addition, most of the color selections in CASCADE may be adjusted by the user to assert colors more in line with their personal preferences.)

In any case, extensive use is made of color to help the user identify documents and comments of interest. As the system is refined, there are plans to introduce textures and other graphical features as well. At the current time, all directory buttons and all comment buttons follow the following coloring rules as a default:
