These functions launch a very basic editor, that allows a new document to be created or the current document to be edited. (Ultimately, it is envisioned that the user will choose any SGML-based CORBA-compliant editor to work with CASCADE in the future.)
To create a new document, select the create new document option. You will be given a dialog box (figure 14) to enter a file name (it will default to your userid) and directory (defaulting to the current directory).

To edit a document, it must be open in the document area. By selecting the edit document choice from the document menu, an editing window will open (figure 15).
