Artificial Neural Network is an information processing method inspired by biological neural system, although you can use it as a tool without learning anything about neurophysiology.
Now I'm taking neurophysiology, and computational neuroscience course, because I want to know how the biological nervous system process information, how can we improve our information processing method accordingly.
My current focus is Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity (STDP), what is the effect on learning by a system with STDP. I'm doing some STDP simulation now. Hopefully I can get some results this semester.
