The submission process is closed.
Information concerning presentation equipment:
All presentation rooms in the conference center are equipped with both PC and overhead projectors. A PC equipped with MS PowerPoint will be also provided, however, you can also bring your laptop. Internet connection is also provided via a fixed IP address. If you need to use Internet, make sure that you have set up your laptop in advance or use the conference PC. Please, contact the organizers if you have specific AV needs.

Information for poster presenters:
Please, design your posters to fit the poster boards 8 x 4 feet (120 x 240 cm) - see the picture. If you want to show a demo in connection with your poster, please, notify Sergey Sosnovsky(sas15 (at) pitt.edu). We will provide a demo table and an a power connection. You will be responsible for bringing a laptop or any other necessary computer equipment. The Internet connection at the poster space is not yet guaranteed.

The proceedings of the conference will be published by Springer-Verlag in Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI/LNCS) under the title "UM2003 User Modeling: Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference". For camera-ready format instructions, please see "Author Instructions" at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html.
The page limit is 10 pages for papers, 5 pages for posters, and 3 pages for the Doctoral Consortium submissions. The deadline to submit the camera-ready version of your paper is Monday, March 10.
Springer Verlag requires all authors to submit several kinds of files in order to prepare both printed and electronic versions of the proceedings.
- if you use TeX or LaTeX, please send (a) source files (including figures), (b) dvi's, (c) a .ps file with all fonts embedded
- if you use any other word processor, please send (a) a source file (e.g., .doc), (b) a universal .rtf file, (c) a .ps or .pdf file with all fonts embedded
All files related to one submission should be compressed together using zip or gzip compatible tools available on your platform. The resulting file should be named after the family name of the first author with a necessary suffix .zip, .tar.gz or .tgz (i.e., smith. zip or miller.tar.gz) and submitted via the following URL: http://www2.sis.pitt.edu/~um2003/forms/reg1.html
Please, fill in all fields of the submission form. When filling in the "Full list of authors" field, please, use the following format:
A. Smith, B. Jones, and C. Johnson
In addition to the submission itself, please complete the copyright form available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/copyright.html and either fax it to Albert Corbett at +1-412-268-1266 or put it in the mail to Albert Corbett, HCII, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, USA, postmarked by March 10.
