Graduation ProceduresALL students graduating from the School of Information Sciences must complete steps 1 - 4.
PhD students must follow steps 1-5.
Masters students who are publishing electronic theses as part of a degree requirement must follow steps 1-4 AND step 6.
1. View the general graduation and commencement Web site on the Registrar's page to make sure you do not miss anything!
2. Complete an application for graduation and submit to your program representative by the appropriate deadline listed below. If you do not receive confirmation email stating that your application was received within one week of submitting your application, please contact your program representative.

3. Please note: Upon receipt of your graduation application, Student Services will send a confirmation that we have received and processed that application within three business days. If you do not receive confirmation from us and do not follow up with us in a timely fashion, or you do not submit your application by the deadline, you are required to pay the late fee as posted below. The late fee must be submitted with your application as a check or money order ONLY - made out to the University of Pittsburgh.
4. You must submit your application according to the following deadlines or you graduation will be postponed to the subsequent term.

5. Students graduating with a PhD must ALSO print and submit all materials requested in the PhD Graduation Checklist.
6. Masters level students who are publishing an electronic thesis as part of a degree requirement must ALSO print and submit all materials requested in the Master's Thesis Checklist.
