We are very excited to have you become a part of SIS, meet your fellow students and the faculty and staff, and become a part of our academic culture. There are many details that need to be addressed in order to make your transition into SIS a smooth one. Please complete the following steps below to be fully prepared for this transition:
1) View the online orientation essentials - please acess this link to learn how you plan your course schedule and register for those courses, how you get your Pitt computer account and photo id, what you will actually do during orientation, where you can find a map of campus you can print, where you can park.
2) RSVP for orientation - by January 2, 2008 you need to access this link and submit an online form to let us know whether or not you will be attending the orientation on January 4, 2008. This will make sure we have both materials and food for you!3) Begin to familiarize yourself online with SIS, the University, and the city - please access this link to learn more about SIS (academic culture, services, deadlines), the University (different offices and their functions, important dates, transportation), and the city (music, culture, shopping, food).
Thank you! If you have questions about these materials, please call 1-412-624-5146 or email nkay@sis.pitt.edu.
Finally, you are also welcome to join the SIS Student Services facebook group (if you have -- or do not object to making -- a facebook profile).
