Cross-registering for a class
For general information about cross-registering for courses, click here.
Here are the procedures:
- You need to be a full-time student in order to be allowed to do this, so make sure you already have registered as a full-time student and/or you have an alternative course at Pitt registered (in case you cannot get the course at the other institution). If you have an alternate course and then get successfully registered for a PCHE course, you can then drop this "extra" course through the end of the drop/add period.
- Obtain a PCHE form from the front desk on the 5th floor of the IS Building
- Talk over your plan with your advisor - he/she needs to approve and sign off on the form.
- You bring the form back to the front desk on the 5th floor of the IS Building for a signature from the Dean's Office
- The student sends the form to the Registrar's Office at Pitt in G-1 Thackeray.
- The Registrar's Office works with the other institution to obtain approval for the student to take the course, and if approval is granted, the Registrar's Office informs the student.
