School of Information Sciences
Industry Advisory Council (SIS IAC)
Ronald L. Larsen, Dean and Professor
The School of Information Sciences Industry Advisory Council acts as an interface between SIS and outside constituents:
- To provide advice and counsel to the dean and program chairs;
- To strengthen relations with corporate partners;
- To promote the goals and objectives of the School of Information Sciences to its constituent communities; and
- To assist in providing access to public and private resources.
To reach these goals, the IAC meets quarterly for a roundtable breakfast at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association on Pitt’s main campus in Oakland. The roundtable format provides ample opportunities for corporate partners to interact with other business leaders and SIS faculty. SIS IAC members are committed to regular participation; dialogue between meetings; participatory conversation; and an interest in topics of mutual value.
Given its membership of outstanding business leaders and their unique perspectives relative to external trends, the IAC is charged to focus on furthering Fiscal Year 2010 goals and objectives as they relate to recruitment/marketing; research/philanthropy; and diversity.
If you or your company are interested in participating in the SIS IAC or would like to request more information on progress and initiatives, please contact 412-624-9473. To view a list of current members, click on “Participants.”
