Aims: This course focuses on the human aspects of system design from the perspective of human-computer interaction, usability, user-centered design, and user experience. The topics covered include the physiological, psychological, organizational, methodological and other relevant issues pertinent to design, development, and evaluation of systems for human use.

After the course, students should be able to:

appreciate human aspects in designing human-computer interaction
design, conduct, and report on studies assessing the quality of user interface and interaction, and
make informed UI design decisions

Everyday interaction and design
Human physiological and psychological characteristics relevant to design
Usability, User-centered design, User Experience, and beyond
Evaluation of UI design
Advanced topics: Eye-movement tracking in usability, Cognitive dimensions, cross-cultural design, and more
