I just defensed my dissertation on Oct. 7 2011 with the title of "Searching for Entities: When Retrieval Meets Extraction." After my graducate, I will move to the domain of medical informatics, working in Cincinnati Children Hospital Medical Center for my postdoctoral research with Dr. Imre Solti.

Research Interests

Information Retrieval, Text Mining, Ontology and Semantic Web, Named Entity Identification and Entity Retrieval, Medical Record Processing and Medical Named Entity Extraction.

Li Qi was born in Fuzhou , Fu Jian Province , P. R. China. Her Chinese name is .

She got her degree of Bachelor of Science at Department of Information Science and Management, Peking University in 2000.

She got her degree of Master of Science at Department of Computer Science, Peking University in 2006.
She got her Ph.D. degree at School of Information Science, University of Pittsburgh. Her advisor is Prof. Daqing He with the dissertation of "Searching for Entities: When Retrieval Meets Extraction."

Personal Interests

Once I watched the movie, Scent of a Woman, I was deeply attracted by one of Tango shows. Therefore, I began my ballroom dance lessons. And I was really lucky that I met good couple teachers in Haidian Studio who taught me a lot about dance and music,as well as feeling and rules of life. What I learned there will benefit all my life.
