*** Since I will not be in Pittsburgh for the January 9 class, the class will begin on Jan 16. In the meantime, your assignment is to examine the online resources on the course website, become acquainted with Perl. Try to complete as many exercises as you can from the 2nd online resource www.comp.leeds.ac.uk/Perl/. If you get stuck, DO NOT PANIC!! We will go over the task next week. NOTE: Don't be misled into thinking this course is programming intensive. We will just touch on Perl programming at the beginning of the term.
