Abstract:
Various applications based on Peer-to-Peer
(P2P) technology have being gaining attentions for their innovative
approaches to providing value-added services. At the same time, the trend
has raised many new research topics about how to provide the secure
services inside new distributed P2P environments.
Biography: Dr. Feng Cao received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, in 1997. He received B.S. and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, in 1990 and 1992. He has been with some leading research institutions and industrial organizations, including SGI Cray Research, Honeywell Technology Center, NTT Labs, and Cisco Systems. He has been leading international teams on various research and development projects in network security, video conferencing, Voice Over IP, and Quality of Service. He has been involved in international standard activities in Internet Engineer Task Force (IETF) and Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA). Feng holds two U.S. patents with three in pending. Feng has published over 30 papers in international journals and in international conferences. Feng is a member of ACM and IEEE. He had been in several program committees of international conferences, and co-editor of special issues of international journals. He had been in the review panels for U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) programs.
