The Laboratory for Education and Research on Security Assured Information Systems (LERSAIS) provides a framework for long-term goals of (1) establishing a premier research program that focuses on the diverse problems related to security and survivable information systems, networks, and infrastructures, and (2) developing and supporting high quality education in security and information assurance. The University of Pittsburgh has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education since 2003 and is one of only 13 Centers in the United States with five CNSS certifications by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  It will serve as a multidisciplinary forum for the synergistic interaction among researchers within SIS as well as other experts in IA-related areas outside the school. We invite industry and academic collaborations in all areas of security research.

Potential students, academic researchers, business and government leaders, as well as curious browsers with an interest in information security and information assurance, will find opportunities at LERSAIS.  If you are curious about securing a webserver, steganography (hiding information in images), or other security topics, visit our On-line Labs pages – built in part with support from the National Science Foundation.

We encourage you to Contact us with any questions or to learn more about LERSAIS.
