Two PhD Positions Available at LERSAIS, University of Pittsburgh

The Laboratory of Education and Research in Security Assured Information Systems (LERSAIS) at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information Sciences is looking for two PhD students with excellent academic credentials and strong interest in information security and assurance. The current support is available for two years with possible extension upon satisfactory performance over this time.

LERSAIS has been a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education designated jointly by the USA’s National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. It is also one of the only 13 such institutions in the US with a curriculum that is certified for 5 National Information Assurance Education Standards.

Students accepted will be involved in research related to information security topics such as, but not limited to, Trust Modeling/Negotiation/Management, Security, Privacy and Survivability issues related to Grid, Peer-to-Peer and Mobile/Pervasive environments with special focus on secure Workflows and Multimedia systems. Students with a MS in Computer/Information Science and Engineering with research experience are preferred and should meet the requirements of the PhD degrees in Information Science or in Information Science with Telecommunications Concentration in the School of Information Sciences (http://www.sis.pitt.edu/).
