Call for Workshops (pdf)

Proposals are solicited for one-day or half-day workshops to be held during the IEEE IRI 2006 conference. The purpose of the IEEE IRI 2006 workshops is to provide a platform for presenting novel ideas in a less formal way than the conference itself. As such, they also offer a good opportunity for young researchers to present their work and to obtain feedback from an interested community. The format of each workshop is to be determined by the organizers, but it is expected that they contain ample time for general discussion.

Participants to any workshop will be required to register to the IEEE IRI 2006 conference. Workshop proceedings will be included in the main volume of the IEEE IRI 2006 proceedings, within a separate section.

Researchers and practitioners from all segments of the information reuse and integration research community are invited to submit proposals for review. The organizers of approved workshops are expected to define the focus of the workshop, gather and review submissions, and decide upon final program content. Organizers (including co-organizers) are expected to attend their entire workshop.

Submissions describing proposed workshops should include the theme and goals of the workshop, planned activities, the expected number of participants, the selection process for participants, a list of potential participants, names of potential program committee members. The submission should include a one-page biographical note for each organizer, describing relevant qualifications and experience.

Workshop proposals must be sent by email to the Workshops and Special Sessions Chair, Dr. Eric Gregoire gregoire@cril.univ-artois.fr by April 15, 2006.

Call for Special Sessions

Proposals are solicited for special sessions to be held during the IEEE IRI 2006 conference. Special sessions are sessions that have a very clear and strong focus on a specific topic. Special session organizers will be required to co-ordinate with other authors to prepare, submit and present papers that will be dedicated to the special session and to ensure that a minimum of 3 papers are available for the session.

Papers for special sessions must be submitted according to the process for all other papers for the IEEE IRI 2006 conference, meeting all the same requirements. Among other things, this means that the reviewing process and the final acceptance/rejection decision are under the responsibility of the IEEE IRI 2006 Program Chairs. If less than three papers submitted to a given special session are accepted by the IEEE IRI 2006 Program Conference Chairs then these papers will be included in the regular sessions of the conference.

Submissions describing special sessions proposals should include the title of the special session, the name of the special session organizer, contact information of the special session organizer, a brief description of the special session topic or theme, up to five keywords and a list of foreseen authors and the tentative topics of their papers.

Special sessions proposals must be sent by email to the Workshops and Special Sessions Chair, Dr. Eric Gregoire gregoire@cril.univ-artois.fr by April 15, 2006.

Call for Panels

A small number of panels will be held during the IEEE IRI 2006 conference. It is recommended that anyone that intends to organize a panel contact the Program Conference Chairs as soon as possible to discuss the feasibility of the concept.
