Welcome to Human Computer Interaction at SIS

Human-Computer Interaction is one of the main educational and research streams at the School of Information Sciences (SIS). Since the focus of Information Science is connecting people with information and technology, Human-Computer Interaction most naturally fits the spirit of Information Science. As a result, a number of top Information Science schools host strong HCI programs. School of Information Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh is not an exclusion. The school offers a range of graduate courses for future user interface developers and usability engineers. A number of faculty have active research agendas in different subfields of HCI from information visualization to user modeling to virtual environments. The school provides a creative environment for both Master and Ph.D level students interested in gaining relevant skills and performing research on HCI topics.
