Projects Research Goals

Educational Innovation & Community Partnerships

The SFI will promote projects for students and educators focused on course development, curriculum design, and service-learning. These pilot projects will support underrepresented groups seeking a college-bound vision, as well as access to information and computer science careers.

Human Centered Computing

Technological systems should be human-compatible; many are not. More rigorous, community-based studies of the impact of information technology on groups and individuals are needed. We envision studies focused on human information processing and interpersonal relations in a range of contexts, from school, community, and health care settings to the halls of government.
