Before going further, you will need to set up the proxy
server as detailed in the paper copy of the assignment.
For simplicity, the instructions are repeated here. The
address is: vidcap.sis.pitt.edu and the Port is 8050.
Internet Explorer: select 'Internet Options' from
the 'View' menu. On the 'Connection' page, check
the box 'access...'
Netscape 4.0: select 'Preferences' from the
'Edit' menu. Select 'Proxies' from the 'Advanced'
category. Select 'Manual proxy configuration' and
'View...' You will enter the address and port
information on the HTTP line.
Netscape 3.0: select 'Options' menu then 'Network
Preferences' and follow (b).
Here are links to the sites that need to
be explored for Assignment #12. Visit both these sites in
any order.
Finally, remove the proxy server. To do this, find the
form that you used to install the server. Turn off the
connection to the server.
NOTE: If you experience problems especially messages from your
browser that a location cannot be found, disconnect the proxy server
by going back to the form and unchecking the option. Then continue
with your task.
