The purpose of the
Telecommunications Seminar course is to provide students exposure to the latest
issues in the telecommunications and networking industry and hot topics in
research through talks by invited experts and Pitt faculty. Additionally the
students have an opportunity to improve their writing and critical thinking
skills through homework associated with the seminar topics.
Prerequisites: Basic Networking Course (Telcom 2000, Infsci
1071, Infsci 1004) and helpful but not required

Students attending
the seminar series for credit are required to submit a short (one page) summary
of each talk and answer the assigned homework question based on the talk.
Students must complete eight assignments to get full credit.
