to the Library and Information Science Program at the
University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information
Sciences. For more than 100 years, the School
of Information Sciences has been educating information
professionals. Our degree programs and specializations,
carefully crafted to meet the needs of both students
and the library profession, have received national
recognition. Our Master of Library and Information
Science degree program is accredited by the American
Library Association and has been ranked as one of the
top-ten programs by US News & World Report in the

Applications for admission to the FastTrack MLIS
program (Fall 2008 Term) are due by June
16, 2008.
The FastTrack MLIS is an ALA-accredited degree
program (36 credits) designed to meet the needs
of highly-motivated, independent learners seeking
a career in the information professions. Through
this online program, you can earn the Master of
Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree in
two years from one of the top-ranked programs in

School of Information Sciences is proud to announce
that its ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information
Science degree program has been recognized as one of
the top-ten programs by US News & World
Report in the magazine’s 2007 edition
of “America’s
Best Graduate Schools.” The MLIS program
as a whole was ranked seventh in the
nation, based on a 2005 survey, and the MLIS Specializations
