New international students MAY NOT BE REGISTERED until they have taken the required TOEFL or Michigan test, administered by the English Language Institute in cooperation with the Office of International Services (OIS), and the results have been reviewed by the program advisor. Students from English-speaking countries are exempt from the TOEFL requirement.
