How do I add a plug-in to CASCADE?

To add a plug-in you will need to have established a CASCADE session. Once you have established a CASCADE session, click the Main menu and then click Preferences which will open a tabbed dialog window. Now click the Utilities tab to open a window through which a plug-in can be added.

Once the Utilities window is open you will notice the eight plug-in slots for you to add the location of each application executable. The simplest way to add a plug-in is to click the Browse button for the utility that you want to add. After clicking the Browse button a new window will open showing all your disk drives from which you can select the executable (.exe) file for the application to be added as a plug-in. Once you have found the application executable, click the Open button to enter it into CASCADE. With the application location entered into CASCADE, click the Save button and then click the Close button.

Perform the above steps for each plug-in that you wish to add to CASCADE. To test whether the plug-in is entered correctly into CASCADE, click the Utilities menu and then click the utility that you have just added as a plug-in. If the application opens then you have correctly added it to CASCADE.

If the application does not open then reopen the Main/Preferences/Utilities window and verify that the path to the application and its spelling is correct, then click the Save button followed by clicking the Close button. Try again to open the application from the Utilities menu and if the application does not open then try launching it outside the CASCADE environment. If the application does not open outside of the CASCADE environment then you may need to have the application reinstalled, contact your system administrator for help. If the application opens outside the CASCADE environment then please contact your CASCADE representative so that we can look into the problem.
