This page describes how to obtain a copy of the Solaris server for CASCADE.

If you are an academic researcher, or if you think your organization might be able to use CASCADE, we ask you to contact the developers to determine how we can best meet your needs. Please see the welcome page for information on getting in touch with us.

We are delighted to provide you with an executable image or with the source code. Keep in mind that in order to compile the CASCADE source code, you will need to obtain a license for GALAXY cross platform development software and for ORACLE. We can provide an executable copy of the server for either SUN Sparc running Solaris or a DEC Alpha running OSF. In this case you will need only have an Oracle DBMS running. We will provide all the DBMS installation scripts and will make available new versions of the server as they are developed.

While there will be no charges for the software or help in installation, the source code is the intellectual property of the developers and the funding agencies who have supported it. Individuals asking for the source code will be asked to sign a simple statement indicating that they will not engage in resale of the source code. A sample of the agreement can be made available upon request.
