Preservation Fair
The Preservation Fair is a public information event in which librarians, archivists, conservators and vendors of conservation supplies and services are brought together to discuss specific preservation issues with the public. As “Preserving Your Family Treasures,” the subtitle of the event implies, the value of these family documents, photographs and other objects to the individuals concerned is undisputed, so the focus is on how to continue to maintain these materials for future use.
For information on the 2009 Preservation Fair, held on February 28 and co-sponsored by the School of Information Sciences, University of Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, see http://www.sis.pitt.edu/~presfair/
Previous Preservation Fairs, also co-sponsored by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, were held in 1999, 2000, and 2002.
