GSA (Graduate Student Assistants) and Labs Assistants
GSAs are on duty in the labs during posted hours of operation.
The GSAs responsibilities include assisting labs users with
software and hardware problems as needed, delivering carts
and readying teaching labs for classroom use, maintaining
a clean, pleasant working environment, and communicating printer
and other hardware problems to the labs staff. GSAs may not
be able to answer questions that labs users have about Unix-related
software, scripting, programming, or other homework-related
issues. All questions of this nature should be directed to
the user's course instructor, professor, or course GSA.
As stated in the labs policies,
the GSA may also request that labs users:
- cease printing inappropriate materials,
- remove food and drink from the labs,
- step outside the labs to make or take calls on cell phones,
- and exit the labs at the closing hours posted on labs
doors and on the SIS labs home page.
