The School of Information Sciences (SIS) takes pride
in its more than one hundred year tradition of excellence
in educating information professionals. SIS offers graduate
degree programs in Information Science, Telecommunications,
and Library and Information Science. Our graduates go
on to become leaders in managing information and technology
of today and in the future.
SIS’s Graduate
Information Science and Technology Program
offers both MS and Ph.D. degrees for those students
interested in becoming information professionals in
either the corporate or academic worlds. Both provide
the theoretical and practical knowledge essential for
successful careers in industry or higher education.
The MS and Ph.D. programs in Telecommunications
and Networking prepare
students for service in the Telecom industry or academia. In
addition to classroom learning, the curriculum emphasizes
use of SIS’s state of the art labs, providing the
hands-on training necessary to become successful Telecom
professionals.
The ALA-accredited graduate program in Library
and Information Science is ranked in the top ten by U.S. News & World
Report. The MLIS program offers both on-campus and online
options of study. Additionally, the Ph.D. program prepares
those seeking a career as a researcher or educator in
library and information science. |
