The School of Information Sciences (SIS) takes pride in its more than one hundred year tradition of excellence in educating information professionals. SIS offers graduate degree programs in Information Science, Telecommunications, and Library and Information Science. Our graduates go on to become leaders in managing information and technology of today and in the future.

SIS’s Graduate Information Science and Technology Program offers both MS and Ph.D. degrees for those students interested in becoming information professionals in either the corporate or academic worlds. Both provide the theoretical and practical knowledge essential for successful careers in industry or higher education.

The MS and Ph.D. programs in Telecommunications and Networking prepare students for service in the Telecom industry or academia.  In addition to classroom learning, the curriculum emphasizes use of SIS’s state of the art labs, providing the hands-on training necessary to become successful Telecom professionals.

The ALA-accredited graduate program in Library and Information Science is ranked in the top ten by U.S. News & World Report. The MLIS program offers both on-campus and online options of study. Additionally, the Ph.D. program prepares those seeking a career as a researcher or educator in library and information science.
