Alumna Teresa Houk

Teresa Houk, 24, graduated from Pitt with an MLIS degree
in August. She's now working at the Sidney Memorial Library
in upstate New York, and her new local paper profiled her arrival
at the library with a story about the new program that she
will put into place. She is to set up a regional network of
public-access computers for citizens to use to find health
information, a project funded by the National Library of Medicine.
Teresa specialized in medical librarianship in her MLIS program,
and was recruited to this job while in her last term of study.
She once described herself as "happily following the trail
of medical librarianship," and she is very excited about combining
her coursework in health sciences and consumer health information
in order to connect people with the health information that
