  • Focus on increasing diversity among new faculty hires
  • George Klinzing to address issues of collaborative research with industry
  • The Provost is encouraging a faculty discussion of alternatives for scholarly publishing, following his involvement in an AAU/NASULGC/ARL workshop on trends and challenges in scholarly communication. He has a presentation on the optic that he is offering to deliver to faculty.
  • Given the uncertain economic conditions, finding ways to run our programs more cost effectively continues to be a priority.
  • Finding alternative ways and means to continue to develop our research capacity in light of decreasing federal funding.
  • A review of the University’s progress over the past 14 years.
