SIS Council Update

September 09, 2009

SIS Council activities are documented on the SIS council wiki (http://scouncil.pbworks.com/FrontPage ).

Recent postings include:

  • the agenda for the September 11, 2009 meeting of the Council
  • the 2010 SIS plan submitted to the Provost’s Office and his response to the plan
  • four proposals for GIST tracks of study
  • one proposal for a post-Masters CAS in Health Librarianship
  • a draft of a “Customer Information Security Plan” mandated by the Provost’s Office to protect confidential information

An important component of the Council’s annual activities includes:

  • monitoring progress on the annual plan submitted on March 1 to the Provost,
  • updating the plan based on progress and changing conditions, and
  • thinking strategically about 5-year goals and objectives.

As these are issues that affect all faculty, staff, and students, the process is an open one that invites consideration and discussion among all concerned. SIS Council meetings provide the appropriate forum to discuss the plan.
