New faculty onboard

We welcome four new faculty members to the School http://www.ischool.pitt.edu/news/08-10-2009.php:
- James “Kip” Currier has joined the faculty as an assistant professor out of the tenure stream. Kip is a graduate of our LIS PhD program and taught here last year as a visiting scholar. He is also our lead faculty member on the iSchool Diversity Initiative funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (see http://www.ischool.pitt.edu/news/article/mellon-grant.php ).
- Jung Sun Oh has joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the tenure stream. She is receiving her PhD from UNC Chapel Hill (SILS) and has research interests in social informatics and information behaviors on the web.
- Geoffrey Bowker has joined SIS as a full professor, focusing on studies of cyberscholarship (http://www.ischool.pitt.edu/news/article/bowker.php ).
His position is partially supported by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (http://www.news.pitt.edu/m/FMPro?-db=ma&-lay=a&-format=d.html&id=3180&-Find )
- Susan “Leigh” Star is the new holder of the Doreen E. Boyce Chair in Library and Information Science and the Director of the Sara Fine Institute (http://www.ischool.pitt.edu/news/article/star.php ).
