CSSD has put together a set of web-accessible resources to enhance the security of sensitive information on university computers, desktop machines, and laptop computers. You may access these from the “Consolidated Security” tab on the my.pitt.edu website. The Provost has mandated that EVERYONE who operates a computer on the University’s network go through the Security Steps checklist on that website. I am required to inform the Provost when all faculty and staff have certified that they have completed this process. To that end, I am asking each of you to follow the steps described on the Consolidated Security web page before the end of this month and to inform me by email (copying Carolyn Loether) when you have done so.
