  Who is Ronald Larsen?  
     
 

The Dean is responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership and for articulating a compelling vision of SIS’s role in information science education and research.  This leadership position is expected to have a thorough understanding of national trends and issues in information sciences, significant administrative experience, a commitment to fund raising, and experience in developing partnerships both internal and external to the University.  Dr. Larsen has been Dean of SIS since July of 2002.  Prior to SIS, Dr. Larsen’s extensive resume includes NASA, University of Maryland, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS,) and Maryland Applied Information Technology Initiative.
