The School of Information Sciences is proud to congratulate
the graduates of the Class of 2007! The School
recognized the 331 students who graduated from June 2006
through April 2007 on April 29, 2007. These amazing
students now join the SIS alumni, who number 11,257 worldwide.
On April 29th, the School hosted a Recognition Ceremony
for all graduates; followed by the Commencement Ceremony
hosted by the University. “We hosted
the recognition ceremony so that our faculty and students
could celebrate this milestone together, in a more intimate
setting. Then, the graduates went
on to the formal commencement ceremony in which the entire
University community can participate,” explains
Ronald L. Larsen, Dean of the School. “We
wanted our graduates to realize how proud we are of their
accomplishments during their tenure here at the School.”
The recognition ceremony honored those who graduated
from all of the degree programs here at the School. Students
from the Information Science, Library & Information
Science, and Telecommunications programs had an opportunity
to join the faculty and staff of SIS in marking this
milestone occasion.
Several students were further
recognized for their accomplishments.
