three day celebration that showcases the degree programs,
research activities, and career opportunities available
here at SIS. Events at i-fest ’06 include
a gaming tournament, poster competition, lectures,
a poetry slam, and the Fantastic, Amazing Great Race. A

SIS thanks ALCOA North America, FedEx Ground, and
Pittsburgh CyberConXion for their gracious support
of the various events at i-fest.pitt.edu. These
sponsors are helping SIS to raise awareness of our
academic programs and the career opportunities available
to students who gain their degrees at the School. Kevin
Horner, the CIO of ALCOA North America will be the
keynote speaker for the i-fest luncheon on Thursday,
November 9th.
Since i-fest ’05 was such a resounding success,
many ’06 events will remain the same. Don’t
miss the Gaming Tournament, the Poetry Slam, the Poster
Competition, the i-fest luncheon and keynote speaker,
or the IS Fair at the Litchfield Towers. Last year,
the i-fest event drew more than 350 students to the
IS Fair in the Litchfield Towers – this year,
students can enter drawings for prizes such as USB
drives, Ipods and more! More than 50 SIS students learned
a great deal at the Steps To Success event in 2005 – the
2006 event will provide you with an opportunity to
network with leading Information Professionals from
our region’s most prestigious companies. The
Fantastic, Amazing, Great Race was such a fun event
that led teams of two all over the City of Pittsburgh
in their quest -- more people can participate
this year, in an effort to win Xbox 360s. |
