Frequency of Driving by the Elderly and Their Information
Processing Competence
Considerable data are available that detail the changes
in the ability of elderly people to process information
while engaged in general activity, some suggesting that
regular practice helps to maintain information processing
skills. Dr. Debons is gathering colleagues at SIS, CMU,
and other institutions to extend this area of inquiry to
study the role of frequency of driving in information processing
competence in elderly drivers. Interested parties are invited
to contact Dr. Debons at adebons@mail.sis.pitt.edu or
412-624-9433. Dr. Anthony Debons, Professor Emeritus is
credited with advancing the study of Human Factors and
Ergonomics. |
