Dr. Griffiths has been awarded a National Leadership
Grant for Libraries, under the category of Research and
Demonstration, from the Institute of Museum and Library
Services (IMLS) in the amount of $499,900.
The grant was awarded to the Sara Fine Institute for
Interpersonal Behavior and Technology.
The IMLS announcement

their web site) reads: Using a variety of methods including a comprehensive
literature search, focus groups and a nationwide survey, this study will provide
a national model of the information universe, illustrating the size, scope, and
complexity of the population of users and non-users. It will provide insights
into users' information needs and expectations, their preferences for access
modes and information content,
and their experiences with using information online.
National Leadership Grants for Libraries: This grant
program enhances the quality of library services nationwide
by
supporting innovative projects that can
be widely replicated. Areas of funding include education,
research, digitization, and library-museum collaboration.
