Welcome to Pitt's ISFG Website
ISFG is the University of Pittsburgh's "think-tank" dedicated to discussing and analyzing information security issues.  The group is comprised of University of Pittsburgh Graduate students within the Security Assured Information System (SAIS) track of the Information Science department.  ISFG believes that information security will play a crucial role in the future development of the global economy's critical infrastructure.

The University of Pittsburgh was recently designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance by the National Security Agency.  The SAIS track is a degree program that allows students to explore many aspects of the information security paradigm including network security, cryptography, secure code, and security management. Fundamental issues such as role-based access control and data integrity are reviewed.
