Test Engineer - Protocols  (Posted: March /08)

Major Responsibilities:
-You will be a key contributor to our leading edge Software Test team
doing verification and validation of the Protocols that we currently
support (BGP, MPLS/RSVP/LDP, OSPF/ISIS, IGMP/PIM, etc.).
-Major responsibilities include working closely with other test
engineers to understand new features as well as to develop, implement,
and execute test plans for the new and existing protocols.
-Other responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and
maintaining automated tests that provide feature and
performance/scalability regression test coverage for new and existing
features, monitoring and debugging automated test failures, and working
closely with the development team to ensure problems are resolved in a
timely manner.

Qualifications: (must have knowledge, skills & abilities):
-The candidate is required to have a sound understanding of programming
languages (C, C++) and scripting languages (TCL), a familiarity with
good coding principles, test automation development experience, and
strong debugging skills.
-A BS or MS in EE/CS or equivalent experience is required.
-Effective communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a
dynamic team environment are essential for success.

Preferences (desired):
-Understanding of IP-based routed networks.
-Understanding of BGP/ISIS/OSPF protocols.
-Understanding of IGMP/PIM-SM protocols.
-Understanding of MPLS protocols (RSVP/LDP) -Understanding of L2 VPN
applications (Psuedowires and VPLS).
-Understanding of BGP/MPLS VPN applications.
-Understanding of IPv6.

Job Description:
The job holder participates in research, development and enterprise-wide
integration and implementation of  networking technologies.  S/he
implements/supports network infrastructure equipment and system for
large, complex global  networks.  S/he designs/supports inter-network
solutions, including both physical and logical documentation, and has a
strong understanding of the entire network topology and architecture.
S/he also supports various security and service-based technologies as
necessary.

Minimum 3-5 years experience required.  Job holder must have a
comprehensive  understanding of and experience with the companys total
computing environment, including architecture, infrastructure, project
management, change management, and processes.  S/he must have experience
with designing, evaluating, implementing and supporting  major,
high-traffic networks and inter- networking strategies    Job holder
must have experience with evaluating and implementing a variety of
networking strategies, including the  related platforms and protocols .

S/he must have extensive knowledge to evaluate and utilize various
communications devices and peripherals, including  routers, switches and
network/telecommunication devices.  S/he must also have good oral and
written communication skills and be able to effectively present complex
ideas.  Job holder must be able to work on multiple projects
simultaneously.  S/he must be a sound decision maker who has problem
solving skills and is capable of devising creative solutions. B.S. or
B.A. or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree or
certification beneficial

Adjunct Instructor (posted: 10/07)
The Information Technology Leadership department at Washington &
Jefferson College seeks an adjunct instructor to teach Networking
Foundations (ITL 331) during spring semester, 2008. Applicants
should have experience teaching networking concepts with emphasis on
problem solving, infrastructure, and strategic planning.
 
Minimum requirements: Master's Degree in the field of Information
Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field;
