ITERA Curriculum Study Documents
Since 2005, the
International
Telecommunications Education and Research Association (ITERA)
commissioned the
University of Pittsburgh’s Telecom program to conduct a study
on the curricula
of several U.S. Telecom programs in order to determine what
competencies/characteristics constitute a true telecom program and what
are the
variants (or species) of programs currently present in the U.S. All of
this is
part of ITERA’s effort to define Telecommunications as a
discipline of its own
and to assist academic institutions in the definition of the core
competencies
of Telecom programs so that current and future programs can compare
themselves
and tailor their degree offerings to students and the industry.
Here are some of the documents that can help you understand the origins and scope of the study. For more information contact us at itera(at)sis.pitt.edu
