Welcome to
Human Computer Interaction at SIS
Human-Computer Interaction is one of the main educational and research
streams at the School of Information Sciences (SIS). Since the focus
of Information Science is connecting
people with information and technology, Human-Computer Interaction
most naturally fits the spirit of Information Science. As a result,
a number of top
Information Science schools host strong HCI programs. School
of Information Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh is not an
exclusion. The school offers a range of graduate courses for future
user interface developers and usability engineers. A number of faculty
have active research agendas in different subfields of HCI from
information visualization to user modeling to virtual environments.
The school provides a creative environment for both Master and Ph.D
level students interested in gaining relevant skills and performing
research on HCI topics.
This page is provides an overview of Human-Computer Interaction
resources at the School of Information Sciences - from courses to
funded projects. The page is prepared for both prospective graduate
students and current students interested in specializing in Human-Computer
Interaction. Please, feel free to contact our faculty if you have
