The Pittsburgh University Archives holds materials donated by Marth M. Smith
relating to her many years of teaching Information Ethics at The Palmer School
of Library and Information Science (C.W. Post Campus, Long Island University),
Drexel University, and elsewhere.
Robert Lee
Chartrand Collection
A collection of over 500 national information policy documents donated
by Robert Chartrand, former Senior Specialist in Information Policy and
Technology for the Congressional Research Service. The materials
in the collection include Government and commercially published documents
on information policy produced from the late 1960s through the
early 1990s. The Chartrand Collection is currently located at the
University of Pittsburgh's Information Sciences Library.

Code
of Ethics of the American Library Association
ALA's website for ethics. The principles of the Code are expressed in broad statements
on this site to guide ethical decision making.
American
Society for Information Science and Technology Professional Guidelines
ASIST’s professional guidelines, which are expressed in three main
statements of responsibility. Each statement is then elaborated upon
in a series of bullet points.
Association for Computing
Machinery Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
ACM’s code of ethics. It consists of a preamble and 24 “imperatives,” or
statements of personal responsibility, arranged into 4 sections.
Society
of American Archivists: A Code of Ethics for Archivists with Commentary
SAA’s code of ethics. It is expressed in a preamble and nine key
principles for the archival community, each with a brief section of exposition.

Code of Ethics
SPJ’s code of ethics. It is expressed in a preamble and four broad
responsibilities of ethical journalists, each of which is expanded and
explained with a series of more specific statements.

of Ethics Online
The site of the Illinois Institute of Technology's Center for the Study
of Ethics in the Professions which includes over 850 codes of ethics
available online. Included are codes of ethics of professional societies,
corporations, government, and academic institutions. In addition, a literature
review, an introduction to the codes, and a user guide are included.

International Center for Information Ethics
An academic website on information ethics which serves as a plaform for exchanging
information about worldwide teaching and research in the field. The site provides
news on ongoing activities by various organization and includes a list of institutions
and instructors teaching information ethics throughout the world.
Critical Thinking Community
The site for the Center for Critical Thinking which conducts advanced
research and disseminates information on critical thinking. Included
is a list of the center's events, resources and publications for colleges
and universities, primary and secondary schools and business and professional
organizations.
Applied Ethics Resources
on WWW
This site was compiled by the University of British Columbia's Centre
for Applied Ethics. It is now hosted by EthicsWeb.ca and provides links
lead to sites on issues such as Health Care Ethics, Business Ethics,
Professional Ethics, Environmental Ethics, Media Ethics, and Computer
Ethics.
The Blue Ribbon Campaign for
free speech online
The Electronic Frontier Foundation's blue ribbon campaign aims to
fight internet censorship and protect online free expresion. This site
contains news, legislative and legal information concerning freedom of
speech issues, governmental action and privacy rights.
Peacefire
Maintained and created by a college student from Vanderbilt, this site
opposes internet regulation of any kind. Here you can find reports
on blocking software such as Cybersitter, Net Nanny, and Cyber Patrol.
