News From the I.S. Library:
Display Cases and New Arrivals

Display Cases

During the month of April 2004, the Information Science library display cases will continue to feature materials from the Elizabeth Nesbitt Room's "Nineteenth Century Juvenile Magazine Collection." The display will highlight the design, illustrations, and intellectual content of these magazines. Comparisons will be made between these nineteenth century magazines and current children's periodicals such as Cricket, Spider, and Highlights for Children. Further information about this collection is available at: http://www.library.pitt.edu/libraries/is/enroom/juvenile/journal_index.html

Coming in May: Artifacts of Antique Information Technology. This display will feature items from Associate Professor Ellen Detlefsen's Museum of Antique Information Technology ... just when you thought you'd seen your last eight-track tape! Look for this display when the summer session begins in mid-May.
