News from the Information Sciences Library

Display Case Updates:

From October 16 through November 15, 2003, the Information Sciences Library display cases will feature some of the Halloween books in our collections. We plan on highlighting the work of people such as Edward Gorey, Charles Addams, Margaret Hodges, Trina Schart Hyman, Hauntings, the Classic Tales of Horror pop-up book, books about Halloween, ghosts, monsters, and witches. A handout with suggested Halloween titles for children and young adults will be available.

From November 16, 2003, through January 15, 2004, the cases will focus on Preservation and Conservation issues. We will have demonstrations of brittle items, a water-damaged book, a book that has foxing, an item that has red rot, as well as "tools of the trade." A handout will list books about preservation and conservation issues that are available in the I.S. Library.
