Job Resource Information
Since the majority of respondents of the Bibliofile User Needs Survey (75%) indicated that they would like to see job information featured in Bibliofile, the following is a list of online and print resources for job advertisements. These resources cover most major specializations in library and information sciences, including academic libraries, archives, public libraries, and special libraries, among others. You might begin your career planning with subscribing to the MLIS listserv, which is an excellent resource for job announcements. Instructions for joining are on the SIS Web site: from the homepage, click on "Library and Information Science" on the top menu bar, scroll down, and click on "mlis-l, THE email mailing list for students!" And as you get closer to graduation, you might want to contact the university's Career Services via their Web site <http://www.careers.pitt.edu> or phone/email Kelli Robinson at (412) 648-7130/kellir@pitt.edu, the LIS contact.
