Angela R. Pollis: New Field Experience and Placement Advisor Ange is an Information Consultant and is currently teaching the Business Resource course at DLIS. She recently retired from the position of Manager of the Knowledge Resource Center at the U.S. Steel Technical Center in Monroeville, PA, where she was responsible for maintaining the Corporation’s center for scientific and engineering information. The center provided computerized searching of technical, business and patent information. Ange received her B.S. in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, and her M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a member of the Special Libraries Association and recently received the “Hall of Fame” Award at the International Conference for her contributions to the field of Information Science. Ange has also served on various committees, Engineering Information, American Iron and Steel Institute, and ASM International. She is currently a Director of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Special Libraries Association. Her primary responsibilities will be to coordinate the field placement program and offer career counseling for students in the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program. She will be available to meet with students to discuss field placement opportunities. Her office schedule for the Spring Term, 2002 will be on Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00.
